Thanks for visiting my site! I offer voice lessons online and have recently started taking on a limited number of students for in-person lessons in Downingtown, PA.

‘That’s good… Now, sing it like you mean it!’

Most of my students have heard this phrase from me at some point during their lessons and it has become one of the cornerstones in my philosophy. In my experience, in order to communicate as an artist, you have to really ‘mean it’.

The essential element of intention is transferred to the listener in a way that is largely a mystery. This is part of what makes music so powerful, universal and thrilling. The human singing instrument is capable of ‘meaning it’ in a way that transcends words. It is this ephemeral and unquantifiable energy that determines whether or not a singer can reach his or her audience in performance.

‘Meaning it’ can make all the difference.

“I’ve known Celeste as a voice teacher for the last ten years. I’m an adult student and love to sing but never really thought I could. Celeste has opened up a world of enjoyment for me and none of it hurt! She is endlessly inventive and makes it all fun and positive while bringing solid, helpful information to bear. I’ve seen her work with others (my husband and various friends) and seen her find the things that work best for each student. I think that’s the mark of a really good teacher.”  Mair L.

“I was a music teacher for 25 years majoring in voice in college. Celeste was truly the best teacher that I ever worked with. We were colleagues when I met her but I knew that I could gain much by studying with her. In my 25 years of study and teaching there was never a better teacher!”   Susan F.

“I haven’t taken voice lessons in a very long time and I was pretty nervous singing again but Celeste made my feel super comfortable and worked with me in detail to get back on track. I can’t wait for my next lesson! Thank you Celeste!”  Kelly M.
